Dan Clore's 'weird' books

Dan Clore, founder of the Robert Anton Wilson Fans group on Facebook, points to a couple of his books. Weird Words: A Lovecraftian Lexicon is a reference book; Clore explains, "Dictionary of horror/fantasy diction, with a large selection of sample quotations illustrating usage. Authors quoted include Edgar Allan Poe, Arthur Machen, A. Merritt, H.P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard, etc., but there's also plenty of quotes from writers including Aleister Crowley, William Burroughs, and plenty of Robert Anton Wilson.

Should be especially useful for those interested in RAW's connections to the Cthulhu Mythos."

The Unspeakable and Others is a collection of Clore's writings. There doesn't seem to be ebook editions of either of these.

Clore has always seemed to me to have compendious mind regarding HPL and his contemporaries and their antecedents in the best of the Weird Tales/gothic/horror writers.

What a drag: when The Unspeakable came out I wanted to get it, but had no money. Later, I saw someone selling used copies online for a remainder-ish price. I thought, "I'll buy one soon." Next time I looked the cheapest was $40. None of the 70 or so public or university libraries I have access to own it. Then I finally saw it on a shelf in a science fiction bookstore in the Mission District in San Francisco, but they wanted $65 or something like that for it.

I wrote Clore and he said he'd be willing to send me one of his copies if I'd review it on Amazon; I said I would. But he never carried through. IIRC, ST Joshi wrote an Intro to Clore's _The Unspeakable and the Others_.

I have never gotten my hands on _Weird Words_, either.
