Maybe Logic on Reddit

Bobby Campbell has revived and refurbished the Maybe Logic subreddit.

More at the link, including the rules for posting, but everyone is invited to stop by and post: "Post anything related to Maybe Logic, Robert Anton Wilson, Illuminatus!, Discordianism, Hilaritas Press, Maybe Day, Maybe Night and really anything connected to the vast constellation of artists, writers, and ideas that comprise this multifaceted countercultural milieu."

An interesting restatement of Maybe Logic

Tyler Cowen (Wikipedia Commons photo)

Tyler Cowen, asked about a blog post explainingwhy he doesn't believe in God:

It struck me at the time that people who believe in a particular God of a particular religion are often reluctant to speak of it in Bayesian terms. Suppose someone said: “Well, I’m a Catholic, I think Catholicism is true with probability 2 percent, but all the other religions are true with probability of 1 percent. So I’m a Catholic, but there’s still a 98 percent chance I’m wrong.” That would actually make perfect sense to me, but I’ve never met a human who feels that way. Belief in religion is usually bundled with high certainty, and that to me doesn’t make sense.

More interesting opinions here, I agree with sombunall.

Bobby Campbell comic at Maybe Logic

Bobby Campbell reprints a comic, "Reality Tunnels."

Bobby comments, "Boy did people not like this comic! but RAW loved it or at least was kind enough to say so. He also remarked that McLuhan had told Pound to use comic books to popularize his ideas about finance, and that he liked the idea of me doing that for his neuro-semantics. More of which coming soon!"

Maybe Logic blog

The Maybe Logic blog, Only Maybe, provides periodic announcements of interest to RAW fans (disclosure: it links to this blog) but is also interesting for the huge collection of links to oddball and RAW-related sites. I followed a link to the Ubuweb, which seems to be an archive of avante-garde material. No RAW stuff there, as far as I can tell, but I watched some videos made by surrealist Man Ray.
