Time to read Coincidance?

After the group reading of Masks of the Illuminati concluded, a couple of you suggested that it might be fun to read one of Robert Anton Wilson's collections.

I'm going to suggest reading Coincidance, as much of the material in that book is about James Joyce, and many of you who take the time to post for this blog are into Joyce. It's a strong collection with varied subject matter, so perhaps many of you will find something in it you want to talk about. It's in print and it's available from Amazon and I assume could be ordered by your local book outlet.

Coincidance also was one of the offerings for New Falcon's abortive entry into Kindle ebooks at the end of May, price at only $4.99. Alas, the files offered for sale were defective, and all of the New Falcon electronic books have been withdrawn from sale. Despite repeated assurances from both the publisher  and Amazon,  the ebooks  still aren't available. I will let you know when/if they become available, but I'm tired of my plans for another group reading being held hostage.

What do you think would be a reasonable time to allow everyone to get their hands on the book? Would early September make sense? Is everyone on board with Coincidance, or would another book make more sense?

There are some used copies on Amazon, one of which I purchased. Hopefully a reading group will form around this one, it looks pretty interesting & I always like hearing what others think about things rather than being stuck in my own solipsistic ideas...

Coincidance sounds great for the next RAW book to study. I should be able to locate my copy from storage by September.

If we were reading Prometheus Rising, I would happily send out a single copy to five people. At least five copies sit on my main bookshelf right now. Coincidance would really make me happy to read in a group, though! When I first bought it, I fell in love because I'm a sucker for collections and lists. I keep a copy on me at all times (no joke - as I'm twenty miles from home, I've got a copy in my go-bag!!!)

Please stick with this one!!!

This sounds like a great idea. I had planned to reread this book soon anyway.

By the way, 2014 marks the W. S. Burroughs centennial and the Jack Parsons' centennial.

Early September works for me, so I'm in. Coincidance is great because it covers so many of RAW's themes.

I'm in. This is one I've never read. Having ordered, failed, and been reimbursed for the ebook... I'll be ordering a paper copy soon. September sounds perfect. Gives me time to wrap up some other items I'm currently reading.

First RAW book I ever read (two years ago), what an original and outstanding book. Would love to read it again.

OK, early September it is. I will announce a reading schedule at a reasonable time; suggestions on what pace to set are welcome. If a cheap Kindle version becomes available, I will announce it on the blog.

Put me down as well. This book is the one that led me down the Finnegans Wake rabbit hole.
