Vegetal, mineral or animal shapes frequently come to mind. This is even more true with 3D fractals like mandelbulbs and such. Does any one have thoughts, ideas or theories about this?
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-86012383256918665572016-01-30T18:03:30.608-08:002016-01-30T18:03:30.608-08:00http://archive.printculture.com/item-1162.html

Kenner combats the antiquarian value of the “complete” epic artwork in the same way that Mandelbrot challenges the mapping of Euclidean shapes onto natural objects. Kenner’s phrasing echoes Mandelbrot’s terms explicitly in the final line of his article when he writes,
"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-54500581998279515802016-01-30T18:00:06.659-08:002016-01-30T18:00:06.659-08:00http://debunkingchristianity.blogspot.ca/2008/08/v...http://debunkingchristianity.blogspot.ca/2008/08/vox-day-fractal-intelligence-delusion.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-72219209236943586542016-01-30T17:59:08.137-08:002016-01-30T17:59:08.137-08:00http://natureofcode.com/book/chapter-8-fractals/http://natureofcode.com/book/chapter-8-fractals/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-5934826430650373432016-01-30T17:58:11.696-08:002016-01-30T17:58:11.696-08:00http://www.wired.com/2010/09/fractal-patterns-in-n...http://www.wired.com/2010/09/fractal-patterns-in-nature/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-29839085676262996612016-01-30T16:57:26.391-08:002016-01-30T16:57:26.391-08:00http://kluge.in-chemnitz.de/documents/fractal/node...http://kluge.in-chemnitz.de/documents/fractal/node2.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-69890502370088308652016-01-30T16:20:32.074-08:002016-01-30T16:20:32.074-08:00I read the fractal-literature piece at The Guardia...I read the fractal-literature piece at The Guardian (all the comments too) and it is kinda silly that I feel I must insist on fractals existing as math-geometry and not "in" or "as" nature. FW is a flow system of epic proportions. Atlas Shrugged is not so nice of a flowing book. Constructal law. Joyce loves craft. Rand was maybe not the craftsperson he was, so analysts picked up on that in the form of derivative love-dove-fractals or something. Too many fractal references this past week. John Higgs book had a photo of fractals in rivers in Greenland.

Fractals are real and irrational. Like God is. Present everywhere? OK. Sorry. Put the fractals back in the mandelbox and I won't play a Heavenly Father Pokemon card. God nor fractals mill around in rivers or the books of old drunkards. We made them up. They fit our expectations. Atheists, make up something more zany to worship than fractals please. Agnostics. Read different books. That is our faith?
Thanks Tom. I feel foolish arguing about metaphysics. I apologize.

Constructal law is a reality tunnel worth travelling through.
I recommend Dr. Adrian Bejan's 2012 book, Design in Nature.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5887440039323868659.post-43109933661337893912016-01-30T08:32:05.365-08:002016-01-30T08:32:05.365-08:00I have Hopscotch by Julio Cortazar in one of my pi...I have Hopscotch by Julio Cortazar in one of my piles of "to read" books.
